Department Outreach

Through its Outreach programs the College of Liberal Arts & Human Sciences strives to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families through excellence in instruction, research, and outreach. We are dedicated to the creation and dissemination of information that empowers people as individuals, family members, and consumers; and to the improvement of educational policy and practice. Our educational services are delivered to university students, businesses and industries, private and public agenices, public schools, professional organizations, and citzens of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the world.

In the Department of History Outreach primarily involves the scholarly sharing of the teaching, research, service efforts outside the traditional campus classroom; and collaborating with colleagues in the Department of Teaching and Learning. A number of our faculty engage in formal and informal outreach projects, ranging from sharing new information on historical topics to consulting on the deregulation of electric industry.
