THE SOCIETY FOR THE HISTORY OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH

The SHCY was founded in 2001 to promote the history of children and youth.
The organization (1) supports research about childhood, youth cultures, and the experience of young people across diverse times and places; (2) fosters study across disciplinary and methodological boundaries; (3) provides venues for scholars to communicate with one another; and (4) promotes excellence in scholarship.

To advance these goals the SHCY publishes a "Newsletter" twice each year. Each newsletter features two or three articles written by guest editors. Regular columns from the members of the newsletter's editorial board include recently published articles and dissertations, news from members, museum and archive updates, websites of interest to historians of children and youth, a pedagogy column, and a column for those interested in the history of girlhood.

If you are interested in submitting a feature article or proposing a regular column, contact the newsletter's editors:

Kathleen Jones (kjwj@vt.edu)

Colleen Vasconcellos (colleen@mail.h-net.msu.edu)

Margot Hillel (M.Hillel@patrick.acu.edu.au)
