HELP!
The SHCY Needs Volunteers
I am still feeling very positive about our meeting at UMBC. I
attended a number of excellent sessions and heard some very fine
papers. I look forward with anticipation to seeing the fruits
of the many projects now underway in our field. I was delighted
to meet so many of you at the conference, and I am sorry I did
not have the chance to greet everyone who was there. It was a
great pleasure to welcome people from all over the World to our
conference. In short we are launched as a society in a strong
and positive way, and I hope we can maintain that momentum. To
that end let me repeat the call I gave at the business meeting:
We need volunteers! In particular we need people willing to work
in the following areas:
1) Program for the next meeting
2) Exploring the possibilities for publication
3) Ways of expanding our membership
4) Conference arrangements for next meeting
If
you are interested in any of those areas please send your expression
of interest to me (jhawes@memphis.edu)
IMPORTANT:
some of you spoke to me at the meeting and I noted your name,
but PLEASE send an email to me confirming your interest so that
all volunteers are in one place.
You
have made this organization what it is. Let us now work together
to make the next bi-ann...er bi-enn...uh the next meeting even
better!
