10% mid-term: 100 points

10% final: 100 points

40% 2 book reviews and presentations: 200 points each

15% reaction papers each week on readings from Major Problems in the History of American Medicine and Public Health with discussion questions and class contributions: 150 points

10% special reaction paper on Golud: 100 points

10% special reaction paper on Fadiman: 100 points

Grading Scale

Total: 1000 points

A range--900-1000
B range--800-899
C range--700-799
D range--600-699
F- - - - - -below 60

Policy on Late Assignments

Late papers will receive a one-letter grade reduction for each late day. Illness, death in the family, or other unanticipated problems will require an official or documented excuse.

If you miss an in-class presentation you will NOT be able to make it up at a later date and your grade for the book assignment will be reduced by 100 points.
