Course Description: This course is a problems-based approach to U.S. history. Using online readings and documents, students will explore issues such as the settling of the West, the treatment of immigrants, the development of workplace regulations, the decision to drop the atomic bomb, and how history will treat Richard Nixon.

To demonstrate their familiarity with the material, students will write short homework assignments based on the readings, take diagnostic multiple choice quizzes geared to the textbook, write several 2-3 page essay exams, and participate in online discussions.
