Unpublished Sources

These are materials which cannot for the moment be found elsewhere or cannot be found easily. Their being posted here is strictly for the convenience of others and is not meant to prejudice anyone else's right to work them up into respectable critical editions and publish them.

Two texts on prophecy taken from the Genesis and Isaiah commentaries, worked up by me in the process of writing an article. Caveat lector! These were done rapidly and for my own convenience. I make no claim to exceptional accuracy (or even unexceptional accuracy). Moreover, if you have the Flood-Gàl edition of the Isaiah commentary available you have access to a better text of the Isaiah commentary (see "Ongoing Research")..

Part of Johannes Schlageter's just-completed edition of Olivi's commentary on the Song of Songs, now also fully available in published form (see bibliographical entry in "Ongoing Research"). This is a pdf file in Adobe Acrobat, the only way I could manage to do it with apparatus and all. (Acrobat reader can be downloaded free on the web.) Press here.

Johannes Schlageter also has contributed a transcription of Olivi's Ecclesiastes commentary, MS Bibl. Vaticana, Urb. lat. 480. You can read it in html or pdf format. I've not yet been able to save the footnotes in html format, but on the other hand some of the characters were not saved properly in pdf format.

Tom Murtaugh's edition of Olivi's Matthew Commentary, ch 5. This too is a pdf file.Press here for the pdf file. (Note, though, that the pagination has changed in he pdf file, causing the automatic bookmarking feature in the notes to complain loudly and consistently.) If you want to see just the text - no notes, no variants - in html form, press here.

Sarah Pucciarelli's edition of the Matthew Commentary, ch 16. I'll present it here in pdf and html format, but the html format will be problematic in that 1) the text will not have variants and its citations will not be highlighted; 2) the two appendixes will refer to page numbers in the text, but they will have disappeared in html format. All this will be repaired in time, but not today. She has:

Introduction (pdf) (html)
Text (pdf) (html)
Appendix locating biblical citations and citing them in full (pdf) (html)
Appendix on citations from the Catena Aurea (pdf) (html)
Bibliography (pdf) (html).

I'll add them as I prepare them for pdf and html.

Sarah Pucciarelli's edition of the Mathew Commentary, ch 24. Here again I'll present it in pdf and html format, with the same problem concerning the variants.

Introduction (pdf)
Text (pdf)
Bibliography (pdf)
Entire edition (introduction, text, bibliography) (pdf) (html)
